Shawn Symons was called to Pastor Fellowship Bible Church in July, 2011.  Before coming to New Hamburg,  Pastor Shawn was the Student Ministries Director at West Highland Baptist Church in Hamilton. Shawn graduated from the Masters of Ministry program from Baptist Bible Seminary.   Prior to that Shawn took numerous theological courses through Prairie Bible Institute in Three Hills, AB and the Baptist Bible Seminary, Clarks Summit, PA.  Before entering full time ministry  Shawn was employed with Hydro One for over 20 years in a variety of capacities and is a former graduate from Fanshawe Community College with a diploma in Business and Marketing. Shawn is happily married to Eleanor and they have been blessed with 4 sons (David, Craig, Steven, and Ian) and 1 daughter (Elaine).

Eleanor has been serving and leading in the area of children’s ministry since her and Pastor Shawn started at the Church in 2011. She loves being able to work with the children and create an engaging atmosphere where the Gospel can be clearly presented. Eleanor has been married to Shawn Symons since 1986 and has 5 children, Dave, Craig, Steve, Ian and Elaine and she is a proud grandma of many grandchildren. She is also heavily involved in other areas of ministry such as worship, community outreach events, and many more.

Kai Johnson was called to ministry while attending Heritage Bible College and Seminary, where he is working toward his Bachelors in Theology. Kai married Sarah August of 2022. After spending a year as a youth intern at Emmanuel Baptist Church Barrie, he was led to FBC through the wisdom of mentors and God’s providence. Kai is passionate about helping others know God through the work of Jesus Christ. He also enjoys hanging out with his wife and new son Lowan.
